Valerus NTP Configuration Tool
It is very important that any CCTV system shows and records the correct time and date.
This is particularly important if it is to be used for evidential purposes. To help with this, Valerus has a built in NTP server that can be used to synchronise the time on the whole CCTV system. However, this needs to be configured correctly on the Application Server and on any Valerus Client PC in the system. The Valerus NTP Configuration Tool will aid the user/engineer with this task and it can be used for testing as well as changing the configuration.
Ideally the Valerus Application Server should be synchronised to a networked GPS clock or the Internet if available. Failing that the system clock will be free running and although keeping the system synchronised this may well not be accurate and will have to be adjusted every so often.
The Valerus NTP Configuration Tool automatically detects what type of Valerus server is running and will give you options based on that. Therefore, if the PC is not an Application server or All-in-one the Region options will be disabled.
Once successfully connected you should see the NTP Status showing something like this.
In some cases, it may take a while for the server to sync. Simply rerun the Tool to edit.
