It has been discovered that on some occasions the web server service will not install on ViconNet 8.3 on some PC Hardware but works fine on others. It is suspected, although not confirmed that this may be an issues with some versions of Windows 10. When the web server is configured within ViconNet the installation process skips through an an error is displayed. When the install works, it takes sometime before the installation is complete and Apache web components can be found in the task manager.
Workaround Ensure that ViconNet is working correctly in all other aspects and take a back up.
Keep ViconNet running and Download and install ViconNet web server 8.2.20

A number of errors will be displayed such as you cannot run these programs simultaneously etc but just click OK on all pop ups. The PC will reboot once or twice during this process.
Once the web server software has installed you will get the same configuration window appear that was displayed in ViconNet. Complete the configuration entering in the Nucleus IP address - Note that this is not required in the ViconNet software. The configuration is then complete.
The VN webserver software has now served its purpose and can be removed through Windows Add/Remove programs. At this point the PC will reboot.
Once the PC has started, manually open the ViconNet application and proceed to the web server configuration. This time you cannot enter the Nucleus address and the whole process takes longer as it should now be working properly as will be indicated. At this point the Webserver can be tested locally by using Internet Explorer and typing in the Nucleus IP address or localhost. The web page should appear prompting you to download SilverLight. If this works the workaround has been successful!!
Finally This process will have disabled the ViconNet autostart with Windows. To re-establish type shell:startup at the Start/RUN prompt and copy the ViconNet shortcut into this folder.
Hopefully you will not need to restore the ViconNet settings but it is there just in case!
