This knowledgebase will walk you through how to set up motion for preset zones in the camera GUI.
First, motion alerts only work at a specified preset in the camera. The camera will arrive at a given preset, and after a few seconds, the motion alerts will ‘turn on’. Motion alerts cannot work while the PTZ is in motion.
To set up motion alerts for a given preset, the presets must first be created and saved. The manual does a fine job of outlining this. Once presets are established, we can begin to set up the motion event(s):
1. Enable Motion Zone Area Setting as shown:
2. Navigate to PTZ Settings – Preset, where we can setup a motion detection area for each preset. Highlight a preset, then select ‘Modify’ to open the bottom window.
3. Press the “Set” button next to “Motion Detection Area”, then draw a box over the preview image to create the motion event detection area. Press ‘Save’ when complete.
4. When performed correctly, a small Red icon will appear above-left of the preview image. We now have a camera motion event setup.
